The United States Vice President, Kamala Harris, says that the exclusion of women in decision-making is not just a marker of a flawed democracy, but also because the participation of women strengthens democracy.
She argued that the status of women is the status of democracy.
Speaking during the closing ceremony of the UN’s 65th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women, the VP, who is the first Biden administration White House official to address the U.N., laid emphasis on gender equality and women’s rights.
