The Akwa Ibom governor, Udom Emmanuel, has removed the commissioner for Agriculture and Food Sufficiency, Uduak Udo-Inyang from service.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports Emmanuel Ekuwem, secretary to the state government, disclosed Udo-Inyang’s sack in a press statement issued on Wednesday, May 15.
kuwem, however, did not disclose the reason for the sack. He said: “Nse Essien should immediately take over the functions of the former Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Sufficiency.
“Governor Udom Emmanuel has relieved the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Sufficiency, Uduak Udo-Inyang of his duties with immediate effect.”
Ekuwem said the governor thanked the former commissioner for his service and wished him good luck in his future endeavours.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that an employee of Ibom Air which is owned by the Akwa Ibom state government, for allegedly expressing support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The employee was just employed for seven days as a catering handler before he was sacked. Utomette was paid one month salary after his employment termination which was initiated following his Facebook post expressing support for the APC.
Idorenyin Eddie who is the human resource manager in Ibom Airline wrote in the termination letter: “This is to inform you that your services will no longer be required. This takes immediate effect."
Utomette said Governor Udom Emmanuel’s media aide, Aniekeme Finbarr, made a Facebook post accusing him of criticising the state.
