- Lewis Hamilton has gifted a young boy named Harry Shaw a Formula One car
- Harry Shaw got the gift as a result of his message to Lewis which inspired him to victory
- The five-year-old boy has been battling with cancer and his days on earth are numbered
A five-year-old boy identified as Harry Shaw who is battling with terminal cancer has been rewarded handsomely by Formula One star Lewis Hamilton.
Harry Shaw got a Formula One Mercedes for inspiring Lewis Hamilton to victory in his last race despite being on the sick bed.
Ahead of the race in Barcelona last weekend, Harry Shaw sent the British driver a good luck message from hospital.
And after the win, Shaw still took the time despite his ordeal to send congratulatory message to Lewis.
Lewis was moved and encouraged by the gesture of the young boy and then transported one of his cars to Harry’s house in Redhill, Surrey.
''It's brought smiles into his life at a time when there's a limited amount of fun to be had, to be perfectly honest.
"It just went from there. It's just got bigger and bigger and better and better and the smiles have got broader and broader,'' Charlotte Shaw, Harry's mother, told the BBC.
