Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been nominated for the Youth Player of the Year award by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
CAF, the continent’s football governing body, also listed the pair of Morocco‘s Achraf Hakimi and Côte d'Ivoire’s Franck Kessie as nominees that will slug it out with the 21-year-old Nigerian international for the prestigious prize.
In a related development, Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr, who was nominated for the Men's Coach of the Year award has now been dropped for honours in the 2018 CAF Awards.
The gala night, dedicated to honoring football stars and officials, who have distinguished themselves in the course of the year, will hold on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.
