Arsenal have confirmed that their summer signing Kieran Tierney will not be available for selection until October.
The defender joined the Gunners from Scottish side Celtic on transfer deadline day in a deal valued at £25 million.
He is however said to be recovering from groin injury which is expected to last about seven more weeks from now.
Tierney was not part of the Arsenal team that defeated Newcastle United in their opening Premier League fixture last weekend.
Meanwhile, the north London side dropped an update on injured players ahead of this weekend's clash against Burnley.
In regard to Tierney, it read: "Groin. Continues to receive treatment and further assessments. Aiming to participate in full training in October."
Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka might not feature in their first home game of the season having bruised to his lower back and leg last weekend.
Rob Holding according to SunSport has handed the club a boost after returning to training with the first-team as he continues his on-field rehabilitation.
While the date of return for the duo of Hector Bellerin and Dinos Mavropanos is yet to be known as they continue their recovery from injury.
Tierney has only featured for his club in light training since he joined them earlier this month, but speaking about his move, he said: "It feels great. I'm delighted to be here.
"Obviously I'm injured now, but I'm just looking forward to getting back on the pitch, training and getting involved with the squad.
"It's been fine for me. I've been working hard in rehab and I've had good people around me as well. It's been easy for me.
"At Celtic I was training hard, working hard and just looking to get back fit. That was my main focus."

According to Metro report, Keita was forced to bow out during a shooting drill after a warm-up with Liverpool teammates.
