- Leroy Sane has delayed committing his future to Manchester City
- Bayern Munich are heavily interested in signing the 23-year-old this summer
- Sane's current deal with the Premier League champions expire in 2021
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has insisted that he is unfazed by Bayern Munich's interests in signing Leroy Sane this summer.
The 23-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a move away from Etihad Stadium with the German League side as his destination.
It would be recalled that the Premier League champions slapped around £145 million price tag on the player in a bid to keep the Bavarians off his trail.
SunSport reports that the Spaniard tactician is optimistic to get the winger to sign a new deal with the club.
Sane's current deal with the Citizens will expire in the summer of 2021 having joined them from Schalke 04 in 2016.
He said: "I answered many times this question, I'm not aware of the rumours. I want players who want to stay.
"The player didn't tell me anything, that's the reality. If he knocks on the door and says he wants to leave then we will speak with the club.
"Nobody has told me that so, for now, he's our player, my player. "We want him to stay here because we try to extend the contract for more than a year.
"We were quite close a month ago but now it's a bit different. that's where it is. "Txiki Begiristain told me it was close two or three weeks ago but now it's not."
Guardiola, while speaking about Bayern's approach on Sane's transfer said: "I'm not disappointed, I know them and I know how it works. I talk too much sometimes.
"I know how it works we keep the secret, most of the times...it's important that we have our player. "Leroy is here and we'll try to get him ready to play the season."
Legit.ng earlier reported that amid Bayern Munich's interest.
The German League champions are hopeful of landing the 23-year-old before the end of this transfer window after the departure of both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery last season.
Although, it is clear that the Premier League champions are not ready to allow their man leave anytime soon, the Bavarians are however not giving up on the player's chase.
