Spanish champions Barcelona have reportedly agreed deal with Kashima Antlers to sign 20-year-old Japanese striker Hiroki Abe this summer.
In fact, Hiroki Abe is said to be on his way to the Nou Camp where he will have his medicals before being announced officially as a Barcelona player.
But he will have to start his career at Barcelona with the Catalans' second team, and if he improves the selectors, then he gets a chance to move to the main team.
Financial details of the transfer deal were not released but earlier reports said Barcelona would pay around 2 million euros for Abe.
Barcelona have already had a busy summer signing Frenkie de Jong from Ajax, Neto from Valencia and Emerson from Atlético Mineiro for a combined 113 million euros.
“It was a difficult decision to leave (Kashima) mid-season, but I chose to make the move because I absolutely want to take on this new challenge at Barcelona,” Kyodo news agency quoted Abe as saying in a statement.
Meanwhile, Hiroki Abe played in all Japan's three games at the 2019 Copa America before they crashed out of the championship.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how with a £65 million deal from Dutch side Ajax.
The Netherlands star agreed a five year deal with the Spanish champions and will cost the La Liga side an initial 75m euros plus another 11m euros (£9.5m) in variables.
