Yakubu Mohammed, who was the chairman of the event, praised his remarkable journey from a humble beginning to becoming a vital figure in the health sector, committed to fortify public health as a pivot of preventive healthcare in West Africa and the entire African continent.

He was instrumental to the development of over 50 national policies and guidelines for sustainable environment and healthcare, coordinated the 3rd and 4th cycles of implementation of the United Nations Global Analysis and Assessment on Sanitation and Drinking Water (GLASS) Initiative, championed Sanitation Safety (SSP), Hand Hygiene Initiative, Electronic Waste and Child Health intervention in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kano, Bauchi, Nassarawa, Abia, Sokoto, Akwa Ibom states and FCT.”

Edwin Isotu Edeh holds a Global Health and Humanitarianism certification of the University of Manchester, United Kingdom; Inter-professional Health Informatics from University of Minnesota, United States; Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Environmental Management and Control from University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
He is an author of four environment and public health textbooks used as a standard text in seven African universities.
